English term or phrase: markets discounted
Energy markets in the third quarter continued to be led by a combination of strong demand from around the world and relative scarcity of supply. Traditional sources of oil and natural gas remain difficult to access due to a mixture of politics and geology, and this partly explains today’s high energy prices. Indeed, oil prices peaked at more than US$82 a barrel in September as markets discounted the potential for supply shortages this coming winter.

Ho trovato che TO DISCOUNT significa fra lealtre cose "non tenere conto di" ma se utilizzato in questo contesto, sembra generare un controsenso. Come potrei renderlo? Grazie
