Ringrazio in anticipo chi mi aiuterà a tradurre l'espressione inserita nel seguente paragrato di un contratto di cessione di quote e relativo alle imposte:
"To the best of the VENDORS’ knowledge, there exist no
grounds for the assertion or assessment of any additional taxes or contributions against the COMPANY or its assets. No waiver of any statute of limitations has been given or is in effect against the COMPANY in respect to the assessment of any taxes.

Il significato di "statute of limitations" l'ho ricavato dal dizionario Picchi; per quanto riguarda il senso generale della proposizione mi pare che si stia facendo riferimento all'assenza di pendenze fiscali sia presenti sia riferibili eventualmente a periodi passati per i quali - o la legge (in effect) o l'autorizzazione esplicita del Vendor (has been given) - abbiano reso possibile l'accertamento "in deroga" (waiver) a leggi tributarie che sancirebbero altrimenti come decorsi i termini utili per effettuarlo.
