Anch'io avevo visto le definizioni dell'HOEPLI.
Il vero problema è tradurre tutta la frase "TO THE BEST OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, INFORMATION AND BELIEF"...Forse esiste una dicitura standard in legalese?

Mario Della Rocca: 5:09pm Mar 13, 2007: l'espressione che devi tradurre è assolutamente pleonastica, ma se provi a mettere i tre sostantivi in eurodicautom ti dà tra gli altri lo stesso significato di "conoscenza" buona serata anche a te!

Mentre infatti questi dovevano presentare una documentazione dettagliata che attestasse il loro reddito, agli stranieri bastava una dichiarazione del consolato di appartenenza che dicesse che "per quanto a loro conoscenza" il soggetto straniero presentava i requisiti. .
