agree  Oscar Romagnone: nel dizionario De Franchis viene considerato sinonimo di "release" e reso con "rinuncia a un diritto o a una pretesa"; nel dizionario Business della Garzanti "Quit claim" viene tradotto con "rinuncia ad agire in giudizio".

  -> I agree with your point, but I think it still contains this idea in the Italian, namely that to waive your right to something means that it defaults to someone else. I think the problem is that there isn't a good cognate in the Italian. Thanks!
