Culprit: è detto così l'accusato dichiaratosi non colpevole (not guilty) in attesa del trial. (imputato, reo).
Ma si parla più spesso di accused o defendant.
Offender: trasgressore, offensore in genere; ma indica in senso stretto l'autore di una offence cioè un reato.
