Eurodic. mi da "documenti demografici" ma non sono molto convinta in questo contesto:

Explanation:
traducendo verso l'inglese traduco anagrafe come "vital records office" (che non aveva incontrato molti plausi, se ben ricordo :-)
ma applicando il ragionamento inverso, tradurrei cosi'.

Il certificato anagrafico in senso lato non esiste. Verificate qua e la e vedrete che ho ragione.
Esiste il certificato anagrafico di nascita, di morte, di stato civile...
quello che li racchiude tutti è il
"CERTIFICATO STORICO ANAGRAFICO" che registra, per l'appunto, tutto ciò che si è fatto di "certificabile" fino a quel momento...il "VITAL RECORDS CERTIFICATE"....

Vital Records Office e' l'anagrafe
Vital Records Certificate e' il certificato prodotto da quell'ufficio, che puo' essere di nascita, di morte, di matrimonio ecc.
L'apposizione "vital records" non si riferisce al contenuto del certificato ma all'ufficio che lo rilascia.

almeno questo capisco visitando i siti in inglese di vari stati americani.

The Tennessee Office of Vital Records registers and maintains the original certificates of births, deaths, marriages and divorces that occur in Tennessee. Certified copies of the original records are available to the person named on the record and to certain family members or legal representatives.

Per questo ho tradotto certificato anagrafico che puo' poi essere un qualsiasi certificato prodotto dall'anagrafe.
