Delle tre possibilita' che ho citato in precedenza, mi pare che la soluzione sia quella tu stesso ipotizzi, ovvero

Documents against Payment = documenti contro pagamenti

La tua frase quindi, mi pare che contenga sia la forma abbreviata che la spiegazione per esteso di DP.
L'unico dubbio che mi rimaneva era che DP vuol dire anche 'delivery against payment' e tu hai sia delivery che payment.

Dopo una certa riflessione giungo a concludere che lo tradurrei esattamente come segue:

"I documenti vennero inviati con istruzioni per la consegna DP (documenti contro pagamento)"

Significa che lo spedizioniere non ti rilascia di documenti per fare lo sdoganamento se non porti la contabile della banca attestante il bonifico (dicesei: contro documenti con accettazione bancaria) oppure se non stacchi un assegno.
