Il contesto è un libretto di istruzioni.
In un elenco delle specifiche della fotocamera in oggetto, si dice

• The camera shall be 8.0 megapixels.
• The camera shall support MPEG encoding format.
• The camera shall use a wide variety of C/CS mount 1/2” lenses.
• The camera shall support a minimum TFTP and HTTP network protocols.

Insomma, la mia domana è: cosa indicano tutti questi "shall"? Forse dovrei ripassare la grammatica inglese, ma non so quale significato attribuire, visto che sono caratteristiche che la macchina integra e non che "deve/dovrebbe" integrare...

Spero di essere stato chiaro. :-(

Explanation:
è quello che intendono, no? E' una forma moolto inglese per dirlo che credo rafforzi il verbo seguente. Quindi le prestazioni descritte.
Per me, dimentica lo 'shall' e vai al verbo ed è tutto a posto.
Magari qualche 'mothertongue' ce lo dirà meglio.
