I'm looking for the translation of the word "quarter", in this text it does not mean the quarter of an amount, I think it's a type or breed of cows, anybody can help? thanks
the text is about mastitis dry cow therapy in dairy cows

Perchè ce ne sono 4. Nota come nel secondo studio citato sotto il campione comprende 50 bufale, il che equivale ad un campione di 200 quarters. Un singolo quarter può essere affetto da mastite e gli altri no, però non sono del tutto indipendenti, ovviamente.
