Il senso sarebbe: chiediti quale sia il modo in cui il cliente preferirebbe 1) essere invitato, esortato all'acquisto e 2) che gli fossero venduti i tuoi prodotti (insomma, essere convinto). Siccome questa costruzione, compatta e chiara in inglese, risulterebbe invece ingombrante in italiano, propongo di ridurre il significato del punto 1) ad "invogliare", e "all'acquisto" quello del punto 2).
