Mi è sorto il dubbio che fosse un typo per "hard manual" e per averne una sorta di conferma ho fatto un giro in rete e guarda qui:
REFER TO THE HARD MANUAL FOR OTHER NEEDED INFORMATION
e molte altre con "hard manuals"
Quindi il suggerimento di "manuale cartaceo" della collega sarebbe ottimo...
