The filter/separator is designed to provide continuous filtration without loss of process flow to the turbine. Operator action is only required to drain the liquid condensate collected by the filter vessel and to replace the filter elements once the designated element change-out pressure is reached. Alarm switches have been provided for both of these required actions.

il filtro si sporca con il tempo o con l´esercizio e quindi la pressione a monte del filtro sale. Quando si raggiunge una certa pressione limite (suggerita dl costruttore) il filtro deve essere sostituito, dato che non solo vi è il problema della pressione elevata a monte, ma la portata diminuisce a causa della ostruzione del filtro e ciò è pericoloso, ovviamente
