Senza dubbio la descrizione spiega che si parla di un apparato (non un filtro, purtroppo) che permette di provare il funzionamento del PCB al di fuori del "case". "Case" io lo chiamo "scatolotto", ma non é una traduzione, anzi, da quello che so, i tecnici mantengono il nome inglese di "case".
Il basso livello di confidenza deriva dal fatto che, non essendo del ramo, non so esattamente il termine usato dagli addetti ai lavori. Prova a fare una ricerca.

Scusa, devo correggermi: "case" é usato per i PC, per la radio e simili si usa (ovviamente!... dove ho la testa?) "housing", ovverosia la scatola di metallo o plastica che contiene l'elettronica vera e propria. Non vorrei averti fuorviato.

L'unico termine italiano che trovo é "CARCASSA". Vedi link seguenti.
Lascerei "housing" oppure, al massimo, "case".
