Agree with Vittorio, as far as I know gauge is a measurement of some sort, if the line is the \"pulse\" probably is \"battito\"? \"velocita\'\"?, I am guessing here.

Il gauge (G) è un'unità di misura del diametro e secondo me non andrebbe tradotta. In medicina viene utilizzata per indicare il diametro degli aghi. Si possono trovere numerosissimi riferimenti in rete.
