Il contesto è la rivoluzione americana. Un soldato dice: "Flankers are coming!" e subito dopo il narratore ci spiega che: "The flankers' job was to push the enemy away from the flanks of the main column."

Il concetto è chiarissimo, ma non so come tradurre quel "flankers", considerando che la spiegazione del narratore segue immediatamente la frase del soldato e quindi devo trovare lo stesso traducente. Avevo pensato a "fiancheggiatori" ma ha tutt'altro significato in italiano. Il dizionario recita "fortificazione ai fianchi" ma non ce lo vedo proprio un soldato che dice "Arrivano le fortificazioni ai fianchi", dev'essere qualcosa di più sintetico, pensavo a "Arrivano i rinforzi" o "Arrivano i rinforzi sui fianchi", ma vorrei avere la vostra opinione.
