English term or phrase: Tree line

Tree line = "limite della vegetazione".

I need to translate this term for my thesis.
I heard it in a 2007 movie, "Outpost" (it's about a group of mercenaries who discover a secret in a Nazi bunker located in Eastern Europe).
I tried to translate it with "Linea d'albero", but it isn't properly translated, I think.
Can somebody help me?

alternativamente, linea della vegetazione.. ma ti suggerisco "Linea degli alberi" siccome vegetazione è un termine che include quasi tutto non solo gli alberi... e è molto probabile che ci sia qualche vegetazione anche oltre alla linea in questione...
