'I found the intensity of colour in the Intense range very exciting. There was pure brilliance of colour when the pencils were used dry, and when water was added very thin transparent washes were created. I am looking forward to experimenting more, the possibilities are endless.’

Ho dei problemi col termine 'wash'. Ho trovato 'lavatura' ma non mi sembra ne' bello ne' elegante. Qualche suggerimento? Grazie

Questo e' il termine piu' giusto, e l'unico che ho trovato che descrive anche, a volte, il materiale.

Pero' il termine sembra molto piu' usato per spiagare la tecnica: http://www.marcelloindellicati.it/olio_tec.htm. Del resto e' anche cosi in Inglese. Wash e' una tecnica, ed e' spesso usato in senso lato per descrivere un materiale che effettivamente puo' essere un po' di tutto. Di solito si usa la tempera molto diluita. Quindi potresti usare "tempera diluita" o "vernice diluita"... Ma non mi sembra si inserisca bene nel tuo particolare contesto.

Ah, ecco, trovato: "pittura trasparente" dovrebbe funzionare nel tuo contesto, e spiegare il materiale.

Avendo a disposizione gli aggettivi con cui potere meglio esplicitare l'idea, io userei 'sfumatura', aggiungendo volendo 'di colore'

Dopo aver asciugato il colore base, provvediamo alla fase di OMBREGGIATURA e a questo scopo è particolarmente adatta la tecnica wash o lavatura.

Wash e' una tecnica, ed e' spesso usato in senso lato per descrivere un materiale che effettivamente puo' essere un po' di tutto. Di solito si usa la tempera molto diluita.
