BOURBON
Corn whiskey originally made in Bourbon County in Kentucky, but now distilled across the country. Production has to follow a strict set of rules: the whiskey may not be distilled to over 80% vol. (160º Proof) to retain enough flavourings, and the mash must be of at least 51% corn. Aged in new charred barrels for at least two years.

Purtroppo sono ancora qui (il doc. è di quasi 100 mila parole e non 10 mila, altrimenti avrei già tirato un bel sospiro di sollievo e sarei fuori a farmi una bella birra! O un bel bourbon...)

"I superalcolici si riterranno aventi gradazione "proof" se il volume dell'alcol etilico in essi contenuto e portato al volume dei superalcolici con acqua distillata hanno un peso uguale a dodici tredicesimi di un volume di acqua distillata pari al volume dei superalcolici, il volume di ciascun liquido venendo calcolato a cinquantun gradi Fahrenheit".

Dimenticavo di dirti che \"gradazione di prova\" è proprio la traduzione di \"proof strength\" che suggerisce il sito in questione.

In Italia credo che la gradazione alcolica sia espressa in volume, quindi 160 Proof dovrebbero equivalere ad una gradazione alcolica dell'80%, espressa in volume.
