Explanation:
Come frequenza d'uso è quasi certo che sia "capro espiatorio". In testi letterari di inizio '900 l'ho trovato nel senso di "scapegrace" (immagino per confusione linguistica): cattivo soggetto. Lo segnalo just in case.
