I want to wish someone to eat well or enjoy the food, etc. in Italian. Isn't "bon appetite"(spelled right?) Italian or is it French? "Mangiare buono" is this the Italian way? I'm confused.

Thank you for your help. I still had to get out my Italian/English dictionary to translate your first sentence, but, I figured it out! :D I will use "Buon Appetito" for my "Italian Style Broccoli" recipe cards that I am designing for my friends. Grazie!
