So che ho già richiesto aiuto su questa traduzione, ma ho perduto i messaggi e poi ricordo che nessuno era troppo sicuro di quello che scriveva.
Vi copio un pezzo della traduzione per rendere più facile l'aiuto:
The material covering the sofas and chairs was a gift from a friend of Mr.McIlhennys from London. The rugs were made in the Killybegs carpet factory in Donegal to match the material.

Between the two windows is a pier glass table with mirror.

The American made marquetry table in the center of the room it about 150 years old. The Italian marquerty inlay depicts musical instruments and dragons.

Explanation:
Secondo il Sansoni pierglass = specchiera
La frase mi sembra un po' ridondante (taolo, specchiera, specchio. Io direi semplicemente. "tra le due finestre c'è una specchiera" o "tra le due finestre c'è un comò con una specchiera".

Tra l'altro ho fatto un po' di ricerche in rete che non hanno dato grandi esiti, a parte una pagina della short story "The gift of the Magi" di O. Henry che mi ha colpito(http://www.auburn.edu/~vestmon/Gift_of_the_Magi.html); nel capitolo 1 c'è la frase: "There was a pier-glass between the windows of the room".
I due testi non saranno sicuramente collegati, ma forse basta davvero tradurre solo con "specchiera".
