English to Italian translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Philosophy | | English term or phrase: conversable | However the challenge is real only if we accept the assumption that if an action is self-controlled then its causal history includes an event consisting of the formation of the person’s will, where will is something that is necessarily accessible in consciousness to the self.
This assumption is not compulsory. In principle, we can think that an action may be self-controlled, not in virtue of the elements in its causal history, but in virtue of the constitution of the agent, which may be more important in the context, than the action’s etiology.
There is a good case for thinking that in practice we identify actions as self-controlled because we identify their perpetrators as self-controlled, where this means identifying them as ‘conversable’: as operating within the reach of conversationally recognizable reason
