English to Italian translations [PRO]

If you have time, you can link photos taken on the ground to a *point-shape file draped over the satellite image*. In this way you can localise the photos in the satellite image.
To find corresponding structures in the satellite image FCCs, we have to drape the point-shaped file over the image.
Ho trovato qualche record per shapefile tipo point, ma mi chiedevo se ci fosse un traducente italiano. E anche per il verbo (drape), ho qualche incertezza sulla resa più opportuna. |

Iniziamo da shapefile:

Abbinato a "punti" viene amalgamato nella forma "shapefile puntuale":
"sensori del satellite Landsat 7. (in orbita dal 1999) ... tre shapefile (uno puntuale, uno lineare, uno poligonale)."

Il "drape(d) over" mi pare sia sempre tradotto con "sovrapporre/sovrapposto" quando riferito alla stesura di un'immagine sull'altra.
