Si parla delle cose che le mamme possono evitare di fare. Riporto la frase e metto fra asterischi la parte che mi crea dei dubbi.

Ironing tea towels. *Obviously you want to have a good general review of what is being ironed*. If you are doing the ironing, that is. *If you are not, press on, pardon the pun*.

Nella prima parte non riesco a capire bene cosa intende. Mi incarto mentre leggo... uffa! Per quanto riguarda il gioco di parole, invece, non ho trovato il modo di renderlo anche in italiano. Se lo traduco letteralmente, lo perdo. Qualche idea?

Che ne dici di: "Ovviamente, vorrete passare in rassegna tutto ciò che state stirando. Sempre che siate sitirando. Altrimenti, passate/potete passare pure ad altro senza fare una piega!"

Così le ripetizioni non solo tanto vicine e sembrano volute (almeno a me... ;-))
