Immagino si riferisca a un qualche strumento, che viene fornito corredato con una sorta di guaina graduata che aderisce allo strumento stesso e ne aiuta la calibrazione. Il termine proviene dal gergo tessile, riferendosi a qualcosa di aderente al corpo, o che si adatta al corpo. In questo caso suggerirei "Adattabile"
