Si parla qui di Lot e delle sue figlie, personaggi biblici che, dopo la distruzione della città in cui vivevano, Sodoma, si rifugiano in una grotta decisamente in stato di choc.

Tanto che le due figlie credono che non esistano altri uomini sulla terra oltre al padre, e per questo si uniscono a lui con l'inganno al fine di non fare estinguere la specie umana.

Subito prima che questo accada, come sorta di anticipazione abbiamo questo commento:

"We are not told how they feel, however we do watch the psychological effect of Sodom's destruction on Lot and his daughters, the terrible twisting of their powers of human reason".

Non che distorsione mi piaccia troppo ma stravolgimento è troppo assonante con discernimento, che invece mi sembra accettabile.

Per ora resto su distorsione: vorrei riuscire a esprimere il movimento di twisting, questa disperata contorsione della coscienza che finisce per produrre una logica appunto contorta.
