L’euristica di riconoscimento fa parte di un gruppo di strategie dette “noncompensatorie”, che fanno a meno di concetti quali la compensazione per integrazione, e si basano su una singola indicazione per decidere.
La sua interpretazione è che il riconoscimento resti sì un
importante indicazione per prendere la decisione, ma non sia l’unica come affermato da Gigerenzer e Goldstein, e ipotizza che le persone siano impegnate in strategie un po’ più complesse rispetto alle euristiche veloci e frugali, basate su una sola indicazione.
