si tratta di categorie ampie, cioè che accolgono molti elemente e ristrette, cioè che ne accolgono pochi (es bello/brutto sarebbe una categorizzazione ampia, mentre rigato/a striscie una ristretta).

secondo me è troppo "aspecifico" - cioè in un articolo giornalistico divulgativo andrebbe bene, ma in uno scientifico ci vedo meglio ampie/ristrette.
