All the answers were useful, but I think the chosen one best reflects the english meaning. I have noted though that often the generic terms lyophlisation is used, and for most cases, this is probably good enough. Because this was for a patent application and the applicant had specified spray drying, I thought it was better to use the more psecific term. Many thanks to all for your answers though, they were all geniunely helpful.

Tiro ad indovinare. Mi viene in mente questo termine che una volta era assai usato e che magari qualcuno puo' confermare. I prodotti "liofilizzati" vengono essiccati a temperature sotto zero per mantenerne le caratteristiche e si possono poi conservare a temperatura ambiente.
