pitone ??

Explanation:
Assodato che "edipsis" e' un errore, mi sembra che il termine corretto piu' probabile per "edipsis" sia "eclipsis"... ma purtroppo non ho trovato niente che possa associarsi con python.
Penso di essermele spulciate tutte, le specie di pitone, e nessuna ha un nome che comprenda anche lontanamente "edipsis", in molteplici variazioni di ortografia.
Ho trovato pero' un sito dedicato ai pitoni che ti puo' essere utile.

pitone di edipo/ pitone edipsis

Explanation:
I am not very sure about this, but somehow the life of "Edipo" (Ancient mythology), is linked to a python and to me "edipsis" simply means something like "of edipo" and as such i think is spelled correctly. i am not sure of the exact italian term, but probably just "pitone edipsis" could be correct, although for some reason the other that springs to mind is "pitone di seba", but although this i am certain it actually exist, is just a "feeling" i have. sorry if i have not helped much

I have checked, and Pitone di Seba is definitely not the right translation. I would probably just translate it as \"Pitone Edipsis\". There might be a more common name, but then again, if they use a scientific name in English then the same could be true for the Italian.

p.s. to Angela: all \"I\" capital this time.....(me thinks).

Per assonanza l'unica parola legata ai pitoni che potrebbe andare è: aspidites, un tipo di pitone endemico australiano. Ce ne sono vari tipi.
