Un'altra proposta:
credo si definisca "batteria sigillata", perché "a tenuta stagna" o "stagna" vengono tradotti come "watertight". La mia scelta di "circuito stagno" in una traduzione è stata corretta da un mio cliente con "circuito sigillato", altro campo, ma il principio è lo stesso, perché, mi ha spiegato che "stagno" significa solo che nulla più "entrare", mentre "sigillato" significa anche che nulla può fuoruscire (teoricamente).

non vorrei rubare la risposta a Giuliana... ma non c'è mai abbastanza posto nella striscia dei commenti. Io ho incontrato spesso il termine "leakproof" con riferimento alle batterie e ho sempre tradotto con "sigillata". L'uso del termine è supportato da diversi siti su Internet. Si tratta di batterie prive di manutenzione e sono dette "sigillate" appunto perché a prova di perdita d'acido. Vedi, per esempio:

Fai una ricerca su Google sotto "batteria sigillata" e non avrai che l'imbarazzo della scelta.
