Le lastre PIP sono lastre offset rivoluzionarie in quanto l'immagine non è fissa, ma può essere rigenerata in ciascuna rotazione del cilindro, analogamente alle fotocopiatrici.
Questo viene ottenuto mediante un laser che scrive sulla lastra durante la sua rotazione. E' quindi essenziale che la scrittura del laser (imaging) sia accordata con il movimento della lastra che, non dimenticare, sta girando come una forsennata. Geniale, non trovi?
