vedo che 32-34 potrebbe essere non solo i due bit 32 e 34, ma anche i tre bit 32-33-34, scritto come 32-34
XOR è un'operazione con due fattori, quindi 32 e 34 potrebbe essere giustissimo, ma per evitare problemi, riprodurrei la forma dell'originale inglese scrivendo 32-34 col trattino.
XOR potrebbe essere applicato a 32-33 e poi il risultato a 34. Improbabile ma impossibile da decidere sulla base di questa sola riga.

Solo ora noto che l'intera frase "...XORing bits 32-34 of the Kc with the 3-bit timeslot number(0-7)..." indica che l'operazione viene effettuata non tra i bit 32 e 34, ma tra di essi e questo timeslot a 3 bit.
Quindi quello che accade è che i 3 bit da 32 a 34 vengono confrontati con i 3 bit del timeslot, con una operazione di XOR
Insomma, un esempio per chiarire
Se i primi tre bit (32-33-34) fossero 010 e gli alti 3 (timeslot) fossero 111, l'operazione viene effettuata, bit per bit, ottenendo:
010 xor 111 = 010
ogni bit viene operato con il corrispondente e il risultato è l'XOR di ogni operazione bit per bit.
