Before the XXX engineers leaves the site he confirms by email to the PM the good functioning of the line. At this stage the line will be handed over to support and the support department will start monitoring the site.

Explanation:
In realtà, "hand over" significa, tra i tanti "consegnare, trasferire, delegare", e tanti altri, ma il senso qui mi sembra chiaramente quello di "to ~ a baby, patient over to sb. affidare un bambino, un paziente alle mani di qcn.".

Siccome metto "reparto assistenza" e non solo "assistrenza", non è necessario ripetere dopo di nuovo "reparto assistenza", ma basta collegare le due frasi con il classico "che". Perciò: "...la linea è affidata al reparto assistenza, CHE..."

Explanation:
Hand over significa "consegnare" "trasmettere", secondo me in questo caso affidare può andar bene, altrimenti potresto anche usare "prendere in consegna".
