English term or phrase: exchange buildings
XXX uses Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) SDSL equipment from YYY in some markets. This equipment is installed by XXX in PTT exchange buildings. SDSL equipment in COs is then connected to the nearest XXX node via a resilient SDH ring over XXX and SDH equipment. This ensures that all but the last few kilometres of a customer connection are protected.
