If you are installing an optical pigtail cable, the end without termination must be fusion spliced to an existing fiber cable using a fiber splice box. Only properly trained personnel should attempt to do this task. Always follow proper fiber optic safety procedures, avoiding glass shards and exposure to the laser beam. See “Proper Fiber Optic Safety Procedures Warning” on page 55 for a translation of this warning. |
