I am translating a psychoeducational report on a 3-year-old child who is suspected to have autism. The context is:
"She was unwilling to sort objects by color and shape. She was not able to name common objects. She was not able to repeat number digits."

Here is my question. What kind of action is to "repeat number digits"?

この場合、digit は「桁」でしょうか「指」でしょうか？「指折り数えるのを真似る」みたいなことでしょうか？わかる人がいらっしゃいましたら、教えてください。

桁を反復する

Explanation:
ここでの場合のdigitは桁のことを指しているのではないでしょうか。原文の最初に、色や形で物（物体）を分けることをしなかった。一般的な物体の名前を挙げることができなかった。そして数の桁を反復できなかった。つまり、23，9、100など桁数に関係なく数字を言われたとおりに反復して言うことができなかった、ということだと思います。
