(Of course, talking about the "earnings impact of pension" is about as stupid as talking about the "earnings impact of SG&A," and any director who does so should be fired, but unfortunately the worship of earnings numbers is a cult that has taken root in many US companies. (Cf. GM, Enron, Worldcom, etc., etc., etc.)) |
