English term or phrase: squeaks

What is a squeaky noise in Japanese that a squirrel might make? I saw stuff like チューチュー鳴く、and キーキーいう in ALC, but I wasn't sure if either of these would sound right if a squirrel was making the noise.

conejoさんの質問は面白いのが多いですねえ。このあたり(カナダ東部）のsquirrelの泣き声はギー、ギーってな感じで姿に似合わずぜんぜんかわいくありません。家の屋根の上を歩くときはパタパタパタ、物を食べるときはほとんど音を立てませんが強いて言えばガリガリとかボリボリ、地面の上を歩くときはカサカサ（落ち葉があると)。どれもsqueakという感じではありませんが。

これは濁音の表現が難しい！
「グワーッ、グワーッ、ギュッギュッ」
かな？ちなみに私の所ではこういう茶色いのの他に黒いのもたくさんいます。

高い音なら、濁音を取って
「クワーッ、クワーッ、キュッキュッ」
でしょうか。でもこの辺のリスはみんなにごった汚い声で鳴きますけど．．．南の方のリスは美声なのかな？

Explanation:
At least that's how I hear when they make noise.
Here in northeaster Arizona high desert, we don't see many of them. But this is how I remember their noise when I was living in Colorado.
Well this is squaky noisy in general, I would say though.

Incidentally, they (squirrel) live in burrow while climbing up tree and collect nuts. This is not what we call "ground squirrel' but plain simple long, bushy tail squirrel which I never seen back in Colorado.

BTW, I'm glad you appear finally recovered your computer's Japanese function.
