"we have been able to mitigate the flow-through of revenue shortfall down to the gross operating profit line"　という文章のなかで、一つ一つ語彙を注目すると、mitigate 軽減する　flow-through 流入　revenue shortfall 利潤低下　　gross operating profit line　営業総利益ライン　となりますが（以上が正しいのか定かではありませんが）、「利潤低下の流入を営業総利益ラインまで軽減することができた」では意味がよくわかりません。是非、皆さんの知恵をお貸しください。

flow-throughも経営／金融関連ではどのような性質の「流入」を意味するのかを丁寧にチェックしないと全体像は見えてこないと思います。

例えば下記サイトには「フロースルー法」という用語が出てきますが関係ありませんか？

Asker: 文章は、ある企業が従業員へ送るニュースレターの一部ですが、当文章がでてくる前に、当企業の財務状況は引き続き厳しいものであるが、皆さんの変わらぬ協力を必要とする、という内容が書かれており、厳しい状況ながら、○○を成し遂げることができた。その○○がこの文章にあたります。shortfallは不足分という意味もあるのですが、revenue shortfall が一語として扱われているため、利益不足分よりも利潤低下という言葉を選びました。ひょっとしたらここから間違っているかもしれません。
