English term or phrase: Truono (name)
It is the name of an American, but looks like an Italian name. Please advise me how to express this name in Japanese characters using Katakana.

Japanese translation:トゥローノ
Explanation:
An alternative way to write it would be トゥルオーノ, but I feel that unnecessarily elongates the "truo" part.

Just wanted to clarify - did not mean imply that I decided against トゥルオーノ just because I don't like the way it sounds. I feel that if a Japanese person were to read トゥルオーノ out loud, the "truo" part would sound much longer and hence differ from the original pronunciation (Italian name pronounced by an American).

For me, the pronunciation at Forvo.com sounds like トゥルオーノ or トゥルオーナ.

Thank all of you for helpful advice and reference.

トルオーノ

Explanation:
At least the pronounciation on forvo.com sounds like トルオーノ.

And I daresay a translator hardly has any right to change the word that needs to be transliterated just because it might not sound good when transliterated with the means of other language.
