このexperience は、ユーザーに何かを体験してもらい、その体験中に感じたことや、結果を意識して使われる言葉で、「...心地」「...勝手」「.. 感」「.. した感想」などを包括的に捉えたものです。操作性、有用性＋評価、感想、個人的な意見までひっくるめられたようなものを指す、都合がいい言葉ですが、翻訳者泣かせというか、ITでは（文脈にもよりますが）カタカナになることがよくあります。

experience というと、その昔（１５年ぐらい前）にApple やマイクロソフトが提唱した「ユーザーエクスペリエンス」というのがあって（ちなみに、Windows XP の XP は experience のことです）、「それ何？」と議論もされたのですが、そのexperienceだけが一人歩きして、マーケティング用語のように使われることがあります。これもその類かもしれません。Navigation experience, Browsing experience という言い方もあります。ＩＴ以外にも、クルマ関係の Driving experience や、Shopping experience という言葉がよく使われますね。

あ、もしかしたら誤解を招く説明になっているのかもしれません。「訳さない」というのは、experience を訳さない、ということで、configuration は何がどうあれ絶対に訳します！
