Marketing - IT (Information Technology)
English term or phrase: "in-market"
Hi all,

This phrase, "in-market" is used a few times throughout an article regarding the telecommunication industry.

Examples:
"Best In-Market Broadband Now Top Requirement for Global Telecommunications Firms"

"the importance of national and regional scale, cost and capital management and in-market consolidation"

"customers will gravitate toward service providers with the best in-market broadband networks"

I first thought it simply meant "in the target market." But a google search turned up a couple of articles with the same phrase with hyphens, and I'm now wondering if it has a more specific meaning.

And if it is indeed different from "in the market," what would be a clear/concise translation?

Any input, thoughts would be much appreciated.

Explanation:
I believe your original assumption is correct.
The article in the second link posted above talks about in-market, which having browsed through, means in the target market.

Thank you for your time and suggestion. I've come to a conclusion that it is closer to "in the target region," meaning "within the geographical area that the provider offers the service."

Asker: I looked at the above link, but there was no usage of "in-market" (with hyphenation). And "市販" won't make sense in the context of the second example above, which is "in-market consolidation." Any thoughts?
