「差し押さえ」とは国家権力により特定の有体物または権利を、私人の事実上・法律上の処分を禁止し、確保することです。

差押とは、借金の返済が滞っている滞納者（債務者）の財産処分権を剥奪し、これを換価できる状態におく強制執行のひとつです。
