I have not much experience in translating contract agreements, and would like to ask help from those more experienced in this field. I have difficulty translating the following phrase... (not only that, I have difficulty understanding its meaning. If a translation is difficult, I hope you could tell me in English in simpler words what it means)

"but in any event not less than 9% of the gross box office receipts as well as proportional share of any fees indemnities premiums and penalties collected by the Licensee in respect of the rights granted herein"

I assumed that this is a separate sentense with a meaning of its own, but if it is connected to the earlier phrase, I hope you could let me know that too. The earlier phrase goes...

"Licensee shall pay to the Licensors royalties... of the gross amount from sales.... where the Play shall be produced under this licence but in any event...."
