English to Japanese translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Instruments / device for obstructive sleep apnea | | English term or phrase: unclassified apnea | The respiration sensor rests on the patient’s upper lip and detects both
nasal and oral airflow. The pulse oximeter is attached to the patient’s index finger to measure blood oxygen saturation levels. The effort sensor is a soft, thin, Tygon tube that is placed around the patient’s upper midsection to detect respiratory effort. The pressure in the tube is transduced, and fluctuations in pressure are used to assess respiratory effort, and to classify apneas as obstructive or unclassified. An ***unclassified apnea*** is associated with an 80% or greater reduction in baseline respiratory effort. |

| | Japanese translation:その他の無呼吸症候群/分類不能(の)無呼吸症候群 | Explanation: This is just a suggestion. "Apnea" is, of course, 「無呼吸症候群」, but here it seems any kinds of apnea which cannot be diagnosed in any defined types are "defined" just as "unclassified", which is 「その他」. As translation, I think it could be 「その他の無呼吸症候群」followed by some expressions like 「に関しては」 or 「というのは」, depending on how you translate other parts and the rest of the sentence. To keep the speech level, expressions you'd use in the rest of this sentence would be the key.
If I could help you more, somehow, please do not hesitate to leave comments. Cheers :)
Hope this suggestion can help you even a bit.
Good luck ;)

FYI: Reference page of pdf file is about this specific field. I think it's worth checking. The second one has one name with "unclassified", that's the only reason I put as reference (I thought it's an example even if not always the same translated word applies. |
