English to Japanese translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
English term or phrase: lyzed off
People may have heard of lisdexamfetamine, commonly called LDX. It is an amphetamine prodrug, which makes it much safer than the regular amphetamines. It cannot be abused because actually the prodrug amphetamine with a lysine molecule attached is not in any way effective. It is inert. If you inject it, you get no benefit from it. The lysine is lyzed off by the red blood cells, and it happens in the gut just after it has been absorbed. So it is not red blood cells that float around in your system, makes it much safer.
