English term or phrase: inauguration festivities :inaugural gala
The Mormon Tabernacle has been invited to sing at President-elect George W.Bush's inaugural parade on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 in Washington, D.C.
This is the sixth time the 325-voice choir has been invited to participate in inauguration festivities;
the last time was when George W. Bush's father was sworn in in 1989.
Details are still being worked out, but it appears the Choir will participate in the inaugural parade, and possibly the actual swearing-in ceremony or inaugural gala.
The weekly broadcast of "Music and Spoken Word" for Sunday, January 21 will be recorded in Washington D.C.
