Explanation:
화이트박스는 일종의 조립식 컴퓨터입니다만, 조그만 점포 등이 만든 컴퓨터입니다. Self-built가 자신이 직접 조립하는 컴퓨터라면 이것은 보통 점포에서 조립해서 파는 컴퓨터입니다. 삼성 등과 같은 회사들과 다른 점은 브랜드가 없다는 것입니다. 있다고 해도 별로 알려지지 않는 브랜드이고요. 그런데, 자기가 직접 조립하는 컴퓨터에도 큰 구별을 하지 않고 이 용어가 사용되고 있으니 그냥 조립 PC라고 하시면 될 것 같습니다. 예전에 현주 컴퓨터가 꽤 유명했습니다. 이 컴퓨터들은 보통 특별히 제작이나 주문을 하지 않고 바로 재고로부터 구입이 가능한 규격품으로 만들어집니다. 베어본 컴퓨터는 이미 일부가 구성이 되어 있고 나머지 부분을 취향에 따라 더 하는 것이므로 다른 개념입니다.

Self-built는 자체 제작이라는 뜻이지만, 용산에 가보시면 알겠지만 다들 DIY라고 합니다. 또는 자기 조립 PC가 무난하지 않을까 싶네요.
