English to Latin translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary - Idioms / Maxims / Sayings | | English term or phrase: Everything for family. | This is intended to be engraved on a Marine NCO sword to show my dedication to my family.
The intent is for the meaning to be a short form of "Everything I sacrifice, I sacrifice it for my family."
The US Marine Corps' motto is "Semper Fidelis" meaning "Always Faithful" (or at least that's the definition that is given). If a similar translation of "Everything for family" is possible, that would be ideal, so that anyone familiar with the Marine's motto could make the connection. Something like "fidelis familiaris."
Thank you. |
| | | Omnia pro familia | Explanation: I think you can use "Omnia pro familia", as an abbreviated motto for the entire sentence: "Omnia mea familiae praepono" (I sacrifice everything for my family). |
